Profit Stratagems was found in 2007 by Albert Pescherine and Phil Rohkohl, with the goal of helping business maximize their profits well lower their cost. The founders of the company have an extensive background in business and in using technology to increase productivity and profits. Albert Pescherine is a self taught software engineer who started developing software in 1979. Albert has owned and operated multiple businesses over the past thirty five years. He has developed multiple software packages, Partsmate, Pricemate, and the Pricemate Cloud. He has passion to create affordable technology solution, to help small business compete in a highly completive market. His goal is to bring solution only available to large business down to the small business and make them more profitable. Phil Rohkohl has a degree in computer information system and has worked for fortune 500 companies. He has been on the cutting edge of the every expanding internet since the early 1990’s. His jobs have included managing projects and organizing workgroup teams as well as a CIO.
Pricemate is the brain child of the founder of Profit Stratagems, Albert Pescherine. One of the businesses Albert owned and operated was an automotive parts store. In running this business he had firsthand experience in dealing with a major problem of managing the company’s product line pricing. In 80’s the parts business did not have a computer system and used preprinted price sheets supplied by the product manufactures. Albert decided to development an automotive point of sale computer system and in 1992 Partsmate was completed and was installed in his two parts stores.
With Partsmate up and running Albert turned to dealing with the problem of loading pricing into the system. At first he had hired people to key type the data in. Later he turned to a pricing service that supplied the bulk of this pricing data. But as the business changed and evolved into the digital age, suppliers began to customize their pricing based on their customers. The pricing services were not able to deal with this so the pricing they supplied was only a baseline price and he would have to recalculate it to get his net cost. This was done using a spread sheet and work relatively well. However this was a time consuming task when you are dealing with hundreds of product line and they changed at least once a year and in some cases multiply times. In the late 90’s Albert then decided to add a pricing module to Partsmate, called Pricemate. Pricemate would take the pain out of dealing with price changes. Pricemate had a server on the web that would disseminate the pricing to all of Partsmate customers automatically. Pricemate would also allow Partsmate customers to import pricing directly into their pricing database that was supplied form their part suppliers. In 2007 Albert development a standalone version of Pricemate that would allow any body to used this invaluable tool. At this time, Pricemate only works on the windows platform.
